ABOUT US

Valerie Warwick, now residing in Brisbane, Australia, originally created Playtime Productions as a vehicle to publish and promote her plays. Since childhood in the United Kingdom, Valerie has been involved with the stage and all aspects of production. In the UK she worked as a fashion model and went on to establish her own school in London’s well known Regent Street. Valerie married an Australian and her two children were born in England. Since the family arrived in Australia, in the early eighties, Valerie has written plays, scripts and innumerable performance work. As a founder member of the Redland Academy of Dramatic Art, she developed a drama program for Downs Syndrome and for students with special needs. She has produced many large cast, major musical productions. As Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Ormiston College (Queensland), she has enjoyed the opportunity to diversify and write in other genres which has enriched and added to her vast experience as a writer.

Playtime Productions was formed in 2001. It has now grown to encompass many facets of the performing arts and has aroused and attracted the interest of directors of youth theatres, drama teachers and schools throughout Australia and overseas.

Playtime Productions now draws on the qualifications, experience and skills of a multi-disciplined group of highly talented practitioners, all of whom share common goals and a love of the performing arts. Each generously offering a wealth of knowledge from backgrounds in radio, television, marketing and training, musical composition, illustrating and cartooning, publishing and printing, teaching and directing, public relations and education.

Playtime Productions has built up a reputation for providing ‘Director/Teacher Friendly Resources’ that offer stage directions and diagrams, costume suggestions, recommended props and sound cues. Production costs are always kept to a minimum to enable low budget performances for schools and youth groups, yet all performance works are able to be upgraded to satisfy the more generous budget. All authors that come under the umbrella of Playtime Productions comply with our philosophy, ensuring ‘Director/Teacher Friendly’ remains an integral part of our publications.
