Publishing
The main focus for Playtime Productions is to provide quality speech and drama resources for schools, drama teachers, youth and adult theatre. We are therefore very happy to look at ideas, stories for children or any other form of writing that could be adapted for stage, the classroom or as drama resources.
We do not expect all scripts, treatments or stories to be submitted complete with stage directions. Assessment is made on the content of the piece, its appeal and adaptability. Playtime Productions also looks for works that can be used across the curriculum or as stimulus for learning activities.
Playtime Productions does not charge to give a brief assessment of work. However, a fee of $150 will be charged for a 60 minute meeting to discuss the piece, if it is thought to have potential for possible publication, under the umbrella of Playtime Productions. At the meeting, the submitted work will be discussed along with the publishing process and time lines. All anticipated outlays will be explained in detail. If the manuscript is not considered to be acceptable for publication, Playtime Productions will notify the writer by email.
To submit your work - Please download the MANUSCRIPT APPRAISAL FORM and forward the completed document with your submitted piece. Works will not be viewed without this form. Manuscript should be presented on white A4 paper, using one side only, double spacing between lines and a generous margin space on each side. Works will not be accepted by email.
Please mark envelope ‘Manuscript Appraisal’. If the work is to be returned, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
